About Blackheath Stamps
Blackheath Stamps is a professionally accredited British stamp dealership, established in 2017 and run by Daniel Ardley, a collector since the age of nine and a seller of stamps since 2003. We specialise in Great Britain line-engraved issues and wider GB philately, in Commonwealth material, and in worldwide stamps and larger collections, and we are members of the PTS, the IPDA and the GBPS.

Our story
My interest in stamps began at the age of nine. It started as most collections do, with a handful of stamps and a quiet curiosity, and it grew into the kind of lifelong enthusiasm that never quite lets go. In 2003 that enthusiasm became a profession, and I began selling stamps in earnest.
The business takes its name from Blackheath in south-east London, where it first traded. Today it operates from near Ely in Cambridgeshire, but the name has stayed, as a reminder of where it began.
In 2017 Blackheath Stamps became a professionally accredited dealership. It has held that standing ever since, and accreditation now sits at the centre of how we work: a set of standards you can hold us to, and bodies you can turn to.
Great Britain is at the heart of what we do, and the line-engraved issues of the nineteenth century are a particular passion, with all the detail of plates, check letters and shades that make them so rewarding to study.

On selling to us
An honest word on selling to us
I am sometimes asked whether I buy collections. The honest answer is that I can, but I will not always be the best home for what you have.
A good collection sold at auction will often realise more than any dealer can responsibly offer, and where that is the case I will say so plainly. Where a seller is happy with my valuation, I am very glad to buy. Where an auction would serve you better, I will point you in that direction. Our guides on selling to a dealer versus at auction and what a dealer will pay set the trade-offs out honestly.
